At our Arlington, TX-based counseling practice, we are proud to employ EMDR trained and certified therapists, offering trauma treatment to DFW, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Mansfield and surrounding area residents. Our Arlington, TX office also offers online counseling and trauma treatment for residence in the state of Texas.

- EMDR is an evidence based therapy method that assists the brain in processing and making sense out of negative experiences. When the brain can understand the experience, the automatic responses that make up the trauma symptom (flash backs, anxiety, somatic body symptoms, panic, night terrors, sleep disturbance, etc.) reduce.
+ Is EMDR therapy just for trauma?
- EMDR therapy can be an effective treatment for SO many things. Any negative experience can be processed to understand and adapt the meaning that our body and brain may have made from it. EMDR therapy has specifically been researched and validated for the treatment of:

+ Do you provide EMDR therapy for Children or just ddults?
- Our clinical team is trained and equipped to provide EMDR thearpy services for all ages: children, teens and adults. We are able to serve clients as young as 3.
+ Can EMDR therapy be done virtually or through online counseling?
- Yes! EMDR therapy has been proven to be effective through video or remote therapy platforms, and at Salyer Counseling Group we can attest that clients are treated effectively every day though remote online therapy services. All EMDR trained therapists are trained and ready to provide EMDR thearpy services through our video online counseling platform.
- We do find that EMDR is most effective in person with children under the age of 10.
- There are some clients that prefer trauma processing in an in persons setting and some situations that the in persons support of another persons is helpful, but EMDR therapy can and is highly effective in remote settings (Click here to learn about our telehealth services)

+ Do you offer EMDR therapy intensive treatment?
- EMDR intensive treatment is a model of treatment involving several hours of treatment in a single day, for most efficient trauma processing.
- Intensives are available in 3-6 hour increments.
- Clinician will screen for client readiness
- Please note, insurance does not over multi hour sessions, but are offered through private pay and affordable sliding scale counseling rates.
