My background

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate who graduated with my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Texas Christian University. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University. I am a certified teacher for the state of Texas in K-12 education and a Certified School Counselor. I started my career as a teacher at Arlington ISD. After teaching, coaching  and raising children as a stay-at-home mom I received my Masters in School Counseling and worked as a high school counselor in Arlington ISD for 13 years. I have also worked as a marketing coordinator in mental health before moving to The Oakridge School as a counselor for students ages 3 -18.

My view on counseling

I'm confident that each of us has the skills to navigate life's most challenging hardships. I view emotions, even the difficult ones, as valuable signals that guide us in understanding our needs, boundaries, and desires. Learning to accept and regulate these emotions, rather than suppressing them, helps us build a stronger connection with ourselves and improves our ability to cope with life's ups and downs.

While personal healing and resilience are deeply individual journeys, they are also strengthened through connections with others. I aim to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where individuals can explore, process, and heal from past hurts. Together, we can build a foundation for lasting transformation by developing self-awareness and coping mechanisms, ensuring my patients feel supported at every stage of life.

Throughout my career, I've worked with young children, adolescents, and their families. I am most fulfilled when I can help someone discover their strengths, develop a growth mindset, and learn techniques that will benefit them throughout their lives. I understand the unique challenges our youth face today, as well as the struggles parents encounter when their children are struggling.
